On behalf of Italian Agenzia delle Dogane and ITACA Consortium I am very pleased to announce that we have been awarded TACTA Project starting from 1st February 2008.

In fact, this is the result of the engagement of my colleagues at Agenzia delle Dogane, supported by a strong commitment by the Agency’s Director himself, as well as that of all the other partners of the ITACA Consortium and the Team Leaders.

My appreciation also goes to those Customs and Tax Administrations of the EU Member States which have already authorised the mobilisation of their officials in order to be involved as TACTA experts and the other Administrations which will support us all along project implementation.

At the same time, the effective implementation of the project strongly relies on all the other project stakeholders, in primis the Beneficiary Administrations and the project managers at the European Commission, who I would like to thank for the commitment showed so far and in the support they will provide in achieving our ambitious goals.

These web pages are meant to give the chance to a specific public of experts and to a more general one to get more information about purposes, strategy and expected results of the TACTA Project, as well as to follow the project activities and achievements implemented according to the TACTA Strategic Management directives.

The web pages also illustrate the rationale for EU TACTA assistance in each Beneficiary Countries, with specific reference to the objectives included in the Work Plan for Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244).

We included an ad hoc section to introduce the reader to the ITACA Consortium partners, explaining the meaning of I.T.A.C.A. vessel logo.
In addition, the TACTA website offers real time information to enable all interested parties to participate effectively in the overall program. We invite you to visit also the NEWS and EVENTS sections to keep up the pace and see what happens next.
